Director/DP

    Description: Protagonist is seeking a full-time Video Director/DP for an initial six-month independent contract. The Director/DP must be comfortable operating cinema-level cameras, arranging elegant lighting for sit-down interviews, and exceptional in conducting on-camera interviews. The Director/DP will be traveling around the country, with a limited crew, to various small businesses, capturing business owner interviews, customer testimonials, and on-the-job b-roll. Compensation will be offered relative to experience and strength of samples.

    Requirements: 10,000 hours experience in cinema-level documentary cinematography; business and corporate interview lighting; on-camera interview mastery; ability to thrive in a small crew production environment; incredible attitude, a desire to serve the client and your fellow teammates, and a passion for filmmaking; and, please God, have competent and professional email etiquette.

Video Editor

  • 6 Month Contract (Full Time)

  • Rate Based on Experience ($35,000 - $50,000 total)

    Description: Protagonist is seeking a full-time Video Editor for an initial six-month independent contract. The Editor must be comfortable editing in the Adobe Creative Suite, working with cloud-based workflows, prepping projects for post sound and color, and other standard editorial practices. The Editor will primarily be editing short-form marketing documentary content, including small business videos, customer testimonials, brand videos and more. Priority will be given to Editors in the Charlotte area, but all US locations will be considered. Compensation will be offered relative to experience and strength of samples.

    Requirements: 10,000 hours experience in story-driven editorial creation; expert in Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Davinci Suite, cloud-based workflows; exceptionally well organized with a well-balanced creative and technical brain; incredible attitude, a desire to serve the client and your fellow teammates, and a passion for filmmaking; a strong ear for music and tone, bringing a fresh and vibrant approach to small business marketing content; the ability to edit quickly, balancing multiple projects at once; and, please God, have competent and professional email etiquette.
